Supporting Cancer Fund for Children in the Belfast City Marathon

Supporting our local community

Moores of Coleraine partnered with Cancer Fund for Children, Northern Ireland’s leading children’s cancer charity. Cancer Fund for Children provide practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people aged 0 to 24 affected by cancer, and their families. They offer free therapeutic short breaks to families at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down and self-catering breaks at Pine, Birch and Oak Cottages in Coleraine.

Three teams from Ulster Stores participated in the relay section of the Belfast City Marathon, with two colleagues completing the race in full. Through sponsorship and donations from family, friends, colleagues and customers, Ulster Stores raised an amazing £2,500 for the charity. As a company, we are dedicated to continuing our efforts in raising as much money as possible for Cancer Fund for Children throughout the year.

Commenting on the partnership, local retailer Neville Moore, Managing Director of Moores, said “At Moores of Coleraine we are committed to supporting our local community. Our partnership with Cancer Fund for Children allows us to play a part in helping support the amazing work this organisation does, ensuring that young people don’t have to face cancer alone.”

Cancer Fund for Children’s Regional Fundraiser, Suzanne O’Loughlin, said: “We are beyond thrilled to be Moores of Coleraine’s chosen charity this year. Family is at the heart of each community and you can really feel that when shopping in Moores of Coleraine. It was great to be cheering the runners on at that last leg of the marathon, and I am delighted to be working with the staff of Moores for the year!”
